Woman With ‘Kidney Stones’ Gives Urine Sample Only To Learn She’s About To Deliver Triplets

After two kids, Dannette and Austin Giltz thought their family was officially complete. The only person who felt much differently about it was their 10-year-old son, Ronnie.

“One time I seen a shooting star and I wished for a baby brother, and I wished for, like, two sisters for my little sister because she always wanted a little sister,” Ronnie told ABC13.

Little did Dannette and Austin know that Ronnie had some serious premonition.

In August 2019, Dannette began feeling shooting pain in her back and sides. The South Dakota mother-of-two said the pain grew so severe that breathing and moving became almost unbearable.

Dannette assumed she was suffering from a bout of kidney stones, since she’s had them before and the pain was quite similar.

As she was rushed to urgent care, she mentally prepared herself for kidney stones surgery.

But then doctors asked Dannette for a urine sample — and the shocking truth began to unravel.

As it turned out, Dannette had no clue she was 34 weeks pregnant and in labor… with twins! The pain she thought was from kidney stones was actually her contractions.

The stunned parents were transferred to another medical facility where an ultrasound showed one of the babies was flipped around inside the womb and would be born feet first, meaning Dannette needed an emergency C-section.

After the surgery, Dannette found herself watching from the hospital bed as Austin cradled her surprise newborn babies. Everything was peaceful and quiet, despite the crazy day they were having.

But while Austin rocked the babies and started thinking about possible names, the maternity nurse realized the initial ultrasounds were wrong…
